NewAir AH-470 Space Heater Review

I received a NewAir AH470 Space Heater for the purpose of this review. This post was made possible by Mom Spark Media. Thoughts are my own.

Recently, I signed up to be a blogger on Mom Spark Media- and I was selected for the very first campaign I applied for! I am so excited to be bringing you a review of the NewAir AH-470 Space Heater! FedEx delivered it yesterday afternoon and I seriously couldn’t wait to tear into it! (Okay, I did exercise a little patience and carefully opened it so I didn’t destroy the box)

As I am sitting here writing this, I have it on in the room with me- and it really does seem to be working quite well! The room was a bit chilled when I started putting it together, and after only having the unit on for a few minutes, the chill is nearly gone! I think I’m going to love this heater!

When I got my NewAir AH-470 Space Heater open- I discovered that it came with a cute little remote (I hope I can keep up with it- it’s so small!)- and that some assembly would be required. Which really was no big deal- just simply needed to attach the feet (which have wheels on them to make the unit super easy to move around!). I think it took me maybe ten minutes to put it together- and five of that was trying to find the screwdriver!

So, I got it all put together and flipped it over and plugged it in. The instructions say that for safety reasons, it must be at least 1 meter (or about 3 feet) away from the wall or other objects- and of course, keep kids away from it so that they don’t get burned.

Once I got it together and plugged in, now it’s time to figure out all the buttons on it! So, there’s a power button (obviously), a timer button, a thermostat button and “+/-” buttons. Seems pretty easy, right?

So, apparently- I didn’t read the directions far enough- I pressed the power button, expecting my NewAir AH-470 to spring to life. Nothing. I double checked that I had plugged it in (even though I knew I had) and pressed the button again. Nothing. Okay- so maybe I should actually read that handy instruction book that came with it. Oh! There’s the problem- there’s a power switch on the lower right hand side of the unit. (So I had a blonde moment- it happens!)

So, I flipped the switch and pressed the power button again- voila! My NewAir AH-470 Space Heater was now functioning!

When you turn it on, the temperature displayed is the temperature of the room- though I find it very hard to believe that it was 68 degrees in here when I turned it on (it definitely seemed A LOT cooler!). So, now time to fiddle with the buttons. The timer allows you to set it to shut off after a specific period of time. It goes in increments of 30 minutes and you can set it for up to 18 hours. The thermostat button goes in increments of half degrees up to 97.0.

Overall, I am very pleased with my NewAir AH-470 Space Heater and would definitely recommend it to others. I am nice and toasty warm as I sit here and write this now. I can honestly say that there really is nothing that I dislike about this space heater. I do love the fact that if it tips over, it automatically shuts off- so I don’t have to worry about the kids or the dog knocking it over and catching the house on fire- and yes, I did test this feature, it really does work!

Here is my YouTube Review. This was my very first time doing a video review- so check it out and let me know what you think!
