Ferndale Healthcare is pleased to announce the newest addition to the Heliocare® line, Heliotop™ 360 Sunscreen! This mineral sunscreen formulated with Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide, features the antioxidant, Fernblock® Polypodium leucotomos extract (PLE). Dermatologist-recommended, Heliotop™ 360 Sunscreen with SPF 50+ is a broad spectrum sunscreen protecting against UVA-UVB sun rays. It’s sunscreen protection with antioxidant benefits. Water resistant for up to 80 minutes, Heliotop™ 360 Sunscreen leaves a smooth matte finish on the skin.

Everyone wants to enjoy their moments in the sun, but now, more than ever, it is extremely important to use the best sunscreen for your individual needs.  For anyone who has ever experienced a sun-related skin issue, this is especially critical.  Limiting sun exposure, wearing protective clothing, and using sunscreens may reduce the risks of skin aging, skin cancer, and other harmful effects of the sun.

Taking Heliocare® Daily Use Antioxidant Formula daily* is a great way to supplement topical sun protection, as is remembering to reapply sunscreen after 80 minutes of swimming or sweating. Building a sun protection arsenal is one of the most important things you can do for your skin all year long. Whether you have had a sun-related skin issue or not, remember to get an annual skin check to help ensure a lifetime of great looking skin.

Heliotop™ 360 Sunscreen is available at select dermatology offices and LovelySkin.com with an SRP of $30 (1.7 fl. oz. tube). For more information, please visit: www.heliocare.com or http://www.ferndalehealthcare.com/products-page/heliocare/heliotop-360-sunscreen/

The powerful antioxidant formula in each capsule of HELIOCARE® is derived from Polypodium leucotomos extract (PLE), a fern native to Central and South America that has been used for centuries as a remedy for skin related conditions. This fern, which was once an aquatic plant, adapted to life on land and created its own protection from exposure to harsh UV rays. By utilizing the extract of this organically grown plant, HELIOCARE® delivers antioxidants that help the skin protect itself from the first day of use.

Available exclusively for medical practices and skincare providers.

I used this product at the pool one day near the end of the summer when the UV index was high. I first noticed that the Heliotop 360 did not have the typical strong “sunscreeny” smell, which I liked. It smells more like a lotion. The sunscreen also felt more like a lotion on my skin once it was fully rubbed in, it did not feel like a greasy sunscreen on my skin. It took a while for the lotion to actually absorb into skin, and until it did, it took a lot of rubbing, and it made my skin look whiter. The box states that it is waterproof and needs to be reapplied every 80 minutes, but I accidentally waited 2 full hours before I reapplied it on my face, which is an area that tends to burn easily, and it did not burn.

I love that the ingredients are all healthy, and that they contain antioxidants, so I know that I am doing a good thing for my skin. Side note, I leave for California tomorrow and will be taking carry-on luggage with me, so I will be bringing this along since it is a TSA approved size!

  • No strong “sunscreen” smell
  • Skin did not burn
  • Did not leave my skin feeling greasy/oily
  • Healthy ingredients containing antioxidants

  • Does not immediately rub in

I would recommend Heliotop 360 to anyone looking for a healthier alternative to traditional sunscreens that use harsh chemicals to protect the skin from sunburns.
